Wichita breweries offer a great way to experience the local craft brew scene. Stop by Nortons Brewing Co. for delicious local beer, amazing appetizers like the "Bacon Crack" and amazing wraps and sandwich entrees. Finish it up with a funnel cake for dessert. Or simply hang out on the patio in the giant porch swings or play corn hole with your buddies. Central Standard Brewing offers a wide range of styles and behind-the-scenes tours with passionate brewers. Relax in the big, comfy retro chairs on the patio when the weather is nice.
Get Active
Looking for a little adventure? Get out on the Arkansas River in a kayak or on a standup paddle board. There are few places where you can enjoy these kinds of sights, but Wichita offers breathtaking views along the natural river flowing through the heart of the city.
Scale the rock walls at Bliss Climbing and Fitness and challenge your friends to see who can make it to the top of the 38-foot top-rope and lead climbing wall. The center also has a 16-foot bouldering wall. If sports are more your style, head to Chicken N Pickle and hit up the pickleball courts while enjoying a bite to eat.
Get Cultured
Experience art and culture at the Wichita Art Museum, with one of the biggest contemporary art collections in the region. Explore the unique public art and urban art pieces throughout downtown Wichita and the historic architecture of the Frank Lloyd Wright Allen House.
This isn’t your average zoo stop. It’s one of the most impressive elephant habitats in the country. In fact, the Sedgwick County Zoo recently landed at No. 10 for Best Zoo in USA Today's 10Best awards, and its Reed Family Elephants of the Zambezi River Valley exhibit earned the No. 7 in Best Zoo Exhibit.
Be Entertained
Find yourself in the middle of a classic melodrama at Mosley Street Melodrama, voted No. 5 for Best Dinner Theater, Wichita's only live audience participation theater. With an evening packed with fun, food and drink, shows are encouraged for patrons age 14+, and include hilarious antics, an interactive experience and an entertaining comedy revue.
Find unique live shows and entertainment at Roxy's Downtown. This cabaret-style theater brings a unique flare, delicious food and fun to downtown Wichita. You can also catch film screenings and other events at this location.
Wichita is also home to many live music venues from huge headlining concerts at INTRUST Bank Arena and Heartland Credit Union Arena to more intimate shows at places like WAVE or The Cotillion.
Stay Out Late
Wichita's vibrant nightlife scene will keep you up late. Enjoy live music and entertainment at places like Brickyard and Mort's Martini & Cigar Bar. There's a lot to do along the brick-lined streets of Wichita's Old Town District, so be ready to party as the city heats up when the sun goes down.
For a more chill environment, head to Lava & Tonic or to the basement of the Ambassador Hotel to Dockum, a speakeasy-style bar offering handmade, craft cocktails and an intimate experience.
